ACT Science Overview
The ACT science test gives students tons of trouble. This section is more like a reading comprehension section than a science section.
You will find that there are 3 categories covered on the ACT science section:
- Interpretation of Data (40-50%)
- Scientific Investigation (20-30%)
- Evaluation of Models, Inferences, & Experimental Results (25-35%)
Within those 3 categories, the ACT science questions are broken down into the following 3 formats:
- Data Representation (25-35%)
- Research Summaries (45-60%)
- Conflicting Viewpoints (15-20%)
You will have 35 minutes to complete the science section of the ACT.
There will be 6-7 passages with each passage including 5-8 questions. As you can see, this section should be treated more as a reading section.
