Princeton Review is the best option for anyone who needs in-depth learning. Their course is very comprehensive and covers everything you will need to know.
There are many options to choose from. You will find 4 different options to study with when using Princeton Review LSAT.
- Self-Paced Course: $799
- LSAT 165+: $2,099
- Immersion 165+: $3,999
- Fundamentals: $899
The core offerings of those options are very similar, with the biggest difference being the number of live online classroom hours offered and the guarantee that comes with the course.
Physical textbooks are a nice feature. When you register with Princeton Review, you will receive access to their online learning portal as well as physical textbooks.
We really liked the physical textbooks as they were integrated well with the online learning portal and you were directed when to read various chapters while using the online portal. Plus, not a lot of the other providers offered physical textbooks.
A study conducted by Business Insider found that students who study via textbooks tend to do better.
An example of the textbooks Princeton Review sent us along with the course.
150+ hours of video content to help you learn. You will find 150+ hours of video lessons in your learning portal. The coursework is organized by subject:
- Games
- Arguments
- Reading Comprehension
- Global Strategies
Within each of these subjects, you will find various units with video lessons, readings, and practice questions. We really liked how there were practice questions sprinkled throughout the units and mixed in with your studies.
An example of the interface on Princeton Review and how things are organized.
There are tons of practice questions and exams. A lot of the value you will find from using Princeton Review comes from their practice questions and full-length practice exams. You will receive access to:
- 70+ full-length LSAT exams
- 8,000+ practice questions
The practice exams do a fantastic job of simulating the actual exam. They also include detailed answer explanations which should be taken full advantage of.
Princeton Review includes a 1-year membership to the LSAC and their LSAT Prep Plus (which is valued at $99). This is also nice because some providers make you purchase this separately.
An example of a practice test you can expect to find.
The interface is a bit dated. The interface of Princeton Review felt a little dated, but overall it was easy to use and very simple – which we liked. You can easily navigate your way around the course and find where you need to go.
Princeton Review offers live-online learning. If you chose to go with one of the packages that includes live online learning hours, you will not be disappointed. You will be able to attend the live online learning sessions as well as studying at your own pace with all of the resources listed above.

Magoosh made our list because of the value they offer. Their course is the cheapest option we looked at and we were pleasantly surprised.
Magoosh keeps it really simple and only offers 2 LSAT prep options:
- Self-Paced Course: $199
- Premium + On-Demand Classes $499
Both courses include all the same features with the biggest difference being 16 hours of live online instruction included in the guided study course.
The dashboard provided by Magoosh is very helpful and useful. One cool feature of the dashboard is students will be able to view a summary of their course results here. Some statistics they can view include:
- Percent of questions answered correctly or incorrectly
- Average pace for answer questions
- Average pace of others
- Number of practice questions remaining in each section
An example of our dashboard on the Magoosh LSAT course.
The lessons are video based and grouped by sections on the LSAT. The videos range in length from 3 minutes to 20+ minutes. They consist of the instructor talking over slides, which sometimes can get dry. There are a total of 90 comprehensive video strategy lessons and 200 logic game explanations.
With that being said, the instructor does draw and annotate over the slides to add an interactive element to the lessons. There is a notes section to the right of the video for users to take notes and the transcript of the video is posted below each lesson for users who want to read and follow along.

In terms of practice, there are 3 different “modes” you can practice in:
- Custom Practice: This mode allows you to practice anything you will be tested on when taking the exam. You can choose which section you want to work on, which specific subject you want to work on, set a time limit, and choose between practice mode or quiz mode – practice mode shows explanations after each question while quiz mode waits till the end.
- Practice Section: This mode allows you to work on a specific section within the LSAT. Users can choose between reading comprehension, logical reasoning, and logic games.
- Practice Test: This mode allows you to take a simulated practice exam. This is the closest you will get to taking the actual exam.
An example of a practice question you will find within the Magoosh course.
One of our favorite features are the video explanations they give you after answering a practice question. This helps save a lot of time and learn important concepts. They also show you the average pace of other students so you can compare your timing to others.

The course does include a study schedule. Users can find these under the “resources” tab. While they are not as customizable or powerful as Blueprint, they are still helpful. They offer 2-week, 1-month, 2-month, 3-month, and 6-month schedules.

Other LSAT Courses We Tested
Here is our summary reviews of other LSAT prep courses that we tested.
LSATMax is a solid option, but fell just outside our top 3 picks. They are are good option for someone looking for personalized support. Their offerings can get very expensive and their videos tend to be longer in length (45+ minutes). The overall experience inside of the course was good and they offer a nice clean design and user interface. This course should only be considered by individuals who really want a personalized experience.
Kaplan is another solid option, but did not make our top 3 picks. Kaplan is comparable to Princeton Review, but their course falls shorts in areas like questions, price, and content. They do offer physical textbooks along with their online course which is a plus. Kaplan does offer their “LSAT Channel” which gives you the feel of a live online course with the pricing of an on-demand course.
7-Sage was reviewed by our team, but we determined that we could not recommend this course. They do offer a ton of practice questions, but their course falls short in other areas when compared to other providers (like learning content). They offer a monthly subscription, so you can take a flier preparing with them. However, we would consider using another option. We would avoid this one.
Wize was also reviewed by our team and we determined that we could not recommend it. They are comparable in price to other providers but do not offer nearly as much content or features. For example, they only offer 24 hours of video content. We would avoid this one.

How to Choose a LSAT Course
Selecting the right LSAT prep course can be the difference between getting into law school or not. There are a wide range of options available.
Our goal is to help you understand your options and choose the best LSAT prep course based on your needs.
To give our users the most accurate reviews possible, we used the following 5 criteria (amongst others):
- Price: Price is the first thing many students consider when purchasing LSAT prep. We understand that not every individual has an unlimited budget.
- Content: Content is king. The content included in these LSAT prep courses varies greatly. Our expert review helps you compare the content in each course.
- Questions: Practice is very important when it comes to preparing for any exam. We looked at things like practice exams, question banks, stand-alone quizzes, and answer explanations.
- Features: These courses all have different little features. Some of the features are just noise, while other features are truly helpful.
- Our Proprietary Sentiment Analysis Score: We pulled a combination of reviews and mentions from various online sources to give you an idea of what others are saying about the course and company.
Alternatives: Do You Need a LSAT Prep Course?
LSAT prep may not be for everyone. The courses can become very expensive, very quickly. If you are someone who prefers to learn in an in-person setting, an online LSAT prep course will not be your best option.
Some students prefer to build their own study materials, which is a great option. Review some additional study options below:
- Free Practice Tests: Use our LSAT practice test to begin studying. You can also the LSAC’s practice tests.
- Other Resources: You can check out other recommended resources from LSAC.
Why You Can Trust Our Testing Process
We looked at 10+ different LSAT prep options and narrowed it down to the 7 options that we wanted to invest our time and resources in.
We then went into these courses ourselves and used them like an actual student would. We looked for things that students would find useful, not just the features that these companies talk about on their pages.
We looked at many criteria, but some of the most important criteria included:
- Price
- Content
- Questions
- Features
- Our Proprietary Social Sentiment Score
After spending hours within the courses and testing out everything inside the courses, we assigned weighted scores to our criteria. This helped us arrive at a final weighted score that we could present to our users and help them compare the different options.
Our expert team follows a strict review process to ensure our users have the most accurate and fair reviews available. We independently review LSAT prep courses and make sure we put our users first.
For more details, read about our independent review process.
Info About Our Proprietary Sentiment Analysis Score
We wanted a way to rank the different courses based on data from real users. Our team came up with a social sentiment score.
To calculate these social sentiment scores, our team developed a proprietary process. At a very high level, this is what we do:
- Gather data from various different online sources such as Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and other social channels.
- Analyze what people have to say about each provider.
- Assign a sentiment score to what they have to say.
Providing a social sentiment score is the perfect way to provide our users with unique and original information from what real users think about each LSAT prep course provider.
